How did it feel to make your England debut?

It was probably the biggest achievement in my career. As a kid, you just want to make it professional, then to make your debut and win trophies. Then to get selected in that elite squad, it tells you actually how much you have accomplished in the game.

How did it feel to be selected for World Cup 2010?

Excitement. There were a few tournaments I didn’t get selected for whatever reason and to be selected for one and represent my country on the world stage was something I have always dreamed about.

Tell us about your first goal for England?

It was a hat full of emotions. It was never really put down to words. The way I handled it was completely different to how my dad expected me to take it. He was more excited when I came off the pitch, He asked how I was and I said ‘alright’ I have to keep doing it again, my mind was always on bettering what I had done and to do it again

The Euros are on the horizon. How far can this England team go at Euro 2024?

We can go all the way! When it gets to the later stages, the quarter and semi-finals, it comes down to the small margins, taking those chances you may get. We have to be prepared. If we do that then we’re in the driving seat, but there are a lot of strong countries, which we will see if we bump into France again.
